Cathay Pacific is pleased to announce I Can Fly Canada - Vancouver Spring 2018 program that offers grade 11 high school students the opportunity to step behind the scenes of commercial aviation and explore various careers in this exciting industry.
We provide a 8-week Academy that meets once a week to help students explore various careers in aviation. Through a series of field trips, lectures and hands-on exercises, participants will learn everything about aviation from engineering to passenger sales, and even meet real pilots and flight attendants. The program is provided free of charge to grade 11 high school students in the Metro Vancouver area. Please feel free to forward this email to a grade 11 high school student you may know. Spring Break SWEAT Program at LaSalle College (by Renfrew Skytrain). Costs $150 for the four days but there are lots of interesting programs. Spring Break Work Experience
Burnaby Neighbourhood House on Hastings The students could help with a variety of tasks – this would include reception (answering phones, setting up front office area, making coffee tea etc), helping with the family drop in 9:30-11:30 Tues/Thurs, helping with the parent support group in childminding on Fridays 10-12, cleaning and sorting toys for the childrens groups and general cleaning. This is an entry level position and does require the student to be a volunteer here (which entails some paperwork to be filled in). Come to Career Programs if interested. Office Work Experience: March 26-29 at the Early Childhood Educators of BC located downtown Vancouver. Speak to Mr Montgomery.
