French summer camp leaders

Canadian Parents’ for French (CPF) and Burnaby Parks and Recreation are proud to sponsor 2 weeks of French camp for children 6 – 12 years of age.

​Dates: Aug 8-12 & 15-19

Camp takes place at Charles Rummel Park, near Lake City skytrain. Read the attachment to sign up. Let us know if you do it and we will give you work experience credit for the hours.

Now is the time to set up work experience. If you are in summer school you can work between Aug 8 - Sept 3. This gives you four weeks to choose from. We have lots of opportunities, but here are a few i am actively seeking students for:

  • Zero Waste Volunteers - Let's keep our city green and clean! Standing near the waste stations to ensure attendees are using the right containers for recycling
  • Crowd Marshals - Control and direct crowds accordingly
  • Ticket Takers & Ushers - Take tickets, ensure all attendees have the correct accreditation 
  • Info Desk Representatives - Booths set up all around the event, direct people accordingly, answer any questions asked.

Burnaby’s International Education Office runs a week long international student orientation at Burnaby South for new incoming students at both the elementary and secondary level. We are looking for roughly 20 students with a mixture of different languages and cultures to assist with the event.

ESL Course Assistant WORK EXPERIENCE @ mOUNTAIN

YOU CAN WORK IN THE AFTERNOONS AFTER SUMMER SCHOOL!

​Summer work experience opportunity. SD41 is seeking Burnaby students to act as mentors in our Summer ESL Program for international students. Minimum commitment is 2 weeks. Full and part-time schedule available. Counts as work experience. See the attached flyer for details.

UBC "Geer Up" has 1-2 week opportunities and SFU Science Alive has summer-long opportunities if you are a science nerd who wants work experience teaching kids fun science stuff.

Vancouver Aquarium Summer Work Experience: The APPLICATION PROCESS HAS CHANGED! You must first attend an info session and THEN you can apply for one of the three different roles available. Dates for the info sessions are: Tuesday May 17th or Wednesday May 18th. Space is limited to sign up using the link below - it may not be working until Friday or Saturday, so just keeping checking back.
