Burnaby Public Library is offering Reading Buddies at our McGill branch (4595 Albert Street) Tuesdays, February 6 – March 6, 2018 from 4 – 5:30pm. We would appreciate if you could share this opportunity with your students. Reading Buddies is a program where teens and children are paired up for one-on-one reading in a safe, fun and friendly environment. The goals of this program are to provide children with extra reading practice and to provide teens with leadership skills and an opportunity to engage with community. Teens are expected to attend all five session. Interested teens should submit their applications by the Tuesday, January 16, 2018 deadline to any Burnaby Public Library information desk. Application forms are attached. Successful applicants will be invited to attend an interview at the McGill branch. Interviews will take place Tuesday, January 23, 2018 from 4 - 6pm and Wednesday, January 24, 2018 from 4 - 6pm. Successful applicants are expected to attend a mandatory training Tuesday, January 30 from 4 - 6pm at the McGill branch. Teens grades 9 - 12 are welcome to apply
